It’s that time of the year again where the Friday Night Lights are bright and prospects across the country are trying to shine on the field to impress college coaches and win a state championship ring before heading to college.
Like the past years, Gator Country is going to do a preview every Thursday for all of the Florida Gators recruiting commits and on Monday we will do a full recap including stats and notes from the past week’s games.
This year we are going to also to name a player of the week from the commits’ games.
This week was the start of the season for some prospects while others are still waiting to start the season.
Week 2 recap
Player of the Week: Nick Evers was 20-35 for 275 yards and two touchdowns in the win. Evers also added 24-yards rushing and a rushing touchdown.
2022 commits
Receiver Isaiah Bond (5-10, 175, Buford, GA. Buford)
Result: Buford defeated Clarke Central 16-3.
Game Stats: Bond had two catches for 70 yards in the win.
Notes: Buford is 2-0 on the year.
Athlete Jamarrien Burt (6-1, 175, Ocala, FL. Forest)
Result: Forest lost to North Marion 36-8 on Friday.
Game Stats: Burt had a touchdown catch in the loss.
Notes: Forest scored in the second quarter but failed to gain any momentum.
Offensive lineman David Conner (6-6, 270, Deerfield Beach, FL. High)
Result: Deerfield Beach defeated Edison 30-22 on Friday.

Notes: Conner was matched up with Florida DE commit Francois Nolten most of the night.
Quarterback Nick Evers (6-3, 188, Flower Mound, TX. High)
Result: Flower Mound defeated Mesquite 30-14 on Friday.

Result: Clear Lake defeated Sterling 68-26 on Friday.

Linebacker Shemar James (6-2, 212, Mobile, AL. Faith Academy)
Result: Faith Academy defeated Williamson 13-7 on Friday.
Game Stats: James had five catches for 38 yards and a touchdown that gave his team the win with 16.2 seconds left.
