Friday Night Frenzy Recap week 13: Florida Gators recruiting

It’s that time of the year again where the Friday Night Lights are bright and prospects across the country are trying to shine on the field to impress college coaches and win a state championship ring before heading to college.

Like the past years, Gator Country is going to do a preview every Thursday for all of the Florida Gators recruiting commits and on Monday we will do a full recap including stats and notes from the past week’s games.

This year we are going to also to name a player of the week from the commits’ games.

 

Week 13 recap

Player of the week: Jaden Robinson- Robinson returned a fumble for a touchdown and also converted a two-point conversion in the win.

2023 commits

Safety Jordan Castell (6-2, 195, Winter Garden, FL. West Orange)

Result: West Orange lost to Ocoee 29-28 on Friday night in the playoffs.

Game Stats: Castell had two tackles and a PBU in the loss.

Notes: West Orange finishes with a 7-5 record.

 

Defensive lineman Kelby Collins (6-5, 280, Gardendale, AL. High)

Result: Gardendale lost to Muscle Shoals 38-7 on Friday in the third round of the playoffs.

Game Stats: Collins had 8 tackles in the loss.

Notes: Gardendale finishes the year with a 9-4 record.

 

Defensive back Sharif Denson (5-11, 170, Jacksonville, FL. Bartram Trail)

Result: Bartram Trail defeated Creekside 42-15 on Friday.

Game Stats: Denson had three tackles in the win.

Result: Trinity Christian is finished with its season.

Game Stats: Gates is out for the year with a torn ACL.

Notes: Trinity Christian finished the year with a 6-5 record.

Result: IMG defeated St. Frances Academy 27-16 on Friday.

Result: Buchholz defeated Crestview 54-33 on Friday night.

Result: Osceola defeated Treasure Coast 10-7 on Friday night.

Andrew always knew he wanted to be involved with sports in some capacity. He began by coaching high school football for six years before deciding to pursue a career in journalism.
