Foster has the Florida Gators at number 1 in his recruitment

Several in-state prospects visited Gainesville this weekend as the Florida Gators had 14 official visitors on campus.

Defensive back Teddy Foster (6-2, 170, Sarasota, FL. Cardinal Mooney) was on campus and is already planning to return to campus.

“I had a great time, it checked all of the boxes,” Foster said of his visit to Florida. “I think I’m going to be back here Tuesday or Thursday just to watch a practice and see everything up close. We have to figure out a date.

While on campus, Foster watched film with defensive backs coach Corey Raymond and they broke down how he would fit into the defense.

“Just breaking down development, watch film and watch my film,” he said on the highlights of the trip. “Evaluate how I would fit into the schemes, going over practice and seeing how many reps I would get as a freshman. Just working on details and making sure everything would fit me.”

Raymond offered Foster in the spring and the relationship has been growing since and it’s a good one according to the defensive back.

“It’s actually pretty good,” Foster said on his relationship with Raymond. “He came down for practice and stayed the whole practice and offered me and a younger teammate. We’ve just been staying in touch since then and it’s just been ongoing. It has been a great experience.”

Next up for Foster will be a trip to another instate program and then a decision could come after that.

“I’m going to Miami next weekend,” he said on what’s next for him. “As of right now, I don’t have any other visits planned. I think I’m going to make a decision in July.”

Heading into his decision, Foster says he has a leader in his recruitment and two other schools that are in the mix now.

“UF, UNC, and Miami those are my top right now,” Foster said. “I think UF is number one right now for sure. Development is crazy here, the resources are immaculate, and my sister just got her degree from here. The academics are off the charts, and she had a great experience here. It checks all of the boxes.”

INSIDERS TAKE: Foster said they pushed for a commitment but also gave him his space and time.
