Florida offered one of the top receivers in 2015 in Shawn Burgess and last Friday the Gators handed out another 2015 offer to a receiver.
This time it was too Fort Lauderdale (Fla.) St. Thomas Aquinas receiver Devante Peete who now has four big time offers.
“My offensive coordinator at my school told me on Friday morning that Florida had offered me,” Peete said. “He told me it was the recruiting coordinator and receiver coach Joker Phillips. I’m excited about it. It’s great to receive an offer from them and to start gaining a relationship with their coaches. My family is really happy about this offer.”
For the 6-foot-4, 170-pound Peete hasn’t visited Florida yet but he says he knows a good amount about Florida and its offense.
“I really like their swag and the way they play football at Florida,” Peete said. “I like coach (Brent) Pease’s offense and the way they run their offense and they are a fast pace team with a lot of speed. Florida puts a lot of athletes in the NFL and they are in need of some wide outs in their offense.”
With Peete just receiving his Florida offer last Friday he is still developing a relationship with receiver coach Joker Phillips.
“I’m really just trying to gain a relationship with their wide out coach Joker Phillips,” Peete said. “I’ll most likely attend a camp their this summer and workout for him and build that relationship with him than.”
For Peete he now holds offers from Florida, LSU, Ohio State and West Virginia.
