What are the keys to Florida’s offense?
AS: Florida State gives up over 100 yards a game on the ground and Jaden Baugh is looking to go over 1,000 yards on the year. So run the ball as much as you can.
GH: Florida State has a poor run defense that needs to be exposed by Jadan Baugh and Florida’s rushing attack on Saturday. If the Gators can take advantage in that area, I think you see DJ Lagway and Florida’s passing game finish off the season on a positive note.
NM: It starts and stops with DJ Lagway. Florida has run the ball effectively at times this season but until Lagway settles down and finds his rhythm the Gators will struggle to score points.
What are the keys to Florida’s defense?
AS: Florida state likes to run the ball under Malzahn and the Gators defense has allowed teams to run at will against them as of late so stopping the run will be huge in this game.
GH: Florida State quarterback Tommy Castellanos leads Florida State in rushing yards this season. Containing Castellanos and forcing him to throw will be the biggest key for the Gators on Saturday afternoon. If you can stop Castellanos, you win.
NM: Stop the run. Florida has allowed 718 rushing yards in the last three games. Florida State loves to run the ball which is a matchup concern for me. The Gators can’t get run over on the ground again.
One player you would like to receive more playing time in week 14?
AS: Lagonza Hayward. He’s playing more every week but I want to see more of him. He’s the future at safety going forward.
GH: I would like to see more of Amir Jackson again. We saw his first career touchdown against the Aggies and I want to see more of it.
NM: Freshman safety Lagonza Hayward is a guy that can be a difference maker against a run heavy team.
Other keys to victory?
AS: It’s senior day and the last game of the year so starting fast and playing with energy will be big.
GH: I’ll keep saying it over and over. Start out fast and hot. This team continues to struggle when they don’t jump to a lead quickly.
NM: Play with an edge. Florida’s lack of effort plays have been concerning over the last few weeks. Play like it’s a rivalry game.
