There’s a lot for Gator fans to be excited about after the release of this weekend’s depth chart against the Utah Utes. There aren’t too many surprises here for me, if any at all. Although, I am quite surprised Lorenzo Lingard is nowhere to be found. Freshman running back Trevor Etienne seems to be making huge strides.

With that being said, the running back room is the most anticipated group I’m most looking forward to seeing on the offensive side of the ball. How well the running backs perform this weekend will ultimately come down to how well the offensive line plays. With this year’s offensive line group, and O’Cyrus Torrence leading the pack, I’m not too worried.

On the defensive side of the football, there’s a whole bunch to keep an eye on. Will the defensive front bring solid pressure? Will the linebackers take a step up in coverage this weekend compared to what we saw last season? Will the defensive backs? Will we tackle better?

There really isn’t a specific position I’ll be keeping a close eye on this weekend when it comes to defense. The defensive side of the football as a whole will be something to watch Saturday night. I’m confident Coach Toney, as well as the rest of the defensive staff, will have their players more than prepared to do their job in the swamp against the Utes.
