Florida offers Jalen Tabor’s friend

Florida has been holding camp on campus the past two weeks but the coaches have also been evaluating other prospects on film.

Last week, one prospect that had his film evaluated was offensive lineman Quarvez Boulware (6-2, 283, Washington DC Friendship Collegiate Academy) who received good news from the Gators.

“Coach [Will] Muschamp offered me a scholarship last week,” Boulware said. “He actually told my head coach and my head coach told me to call him. I called him back and he was just telling me that he wants me to get down there so that I can see what Florida has to offer and so he can meet me in person.”

The Gators visited Boulware’s school twice this spring to evaluate him in person and when they were in town they explained to Boulware how he would fit into the Florida offense.

“Florida wants me inside at guard,” Boulware said. “Coach [Brian] White actually came by several times this spring and he told me that Florida would be offering soon and he was telling me what they were looking for in offensive lineman and that I would fit their style perfectly.”

Boulware is still in the learning process about Florida but he does know one of the Gators’ freshman and has talked to him about Florida.

“I don’t know much about Florida right now,” Boulware said. “Jalen Tabor went to school with me so I just know what he’s been telling me. He tells me what he likes about Florida and what they can do for you down there. It would be nice to go to college with someone like him that I know already.”

With over a dozen offers from several of the top schools in the country Boulware says that he’s now in the process of narrowing things down.

“Nobody is leading right now because I’m just trying to narrow things down right now,” Boulware said. “I’m going to take some visits this summer to help me narrow it down. I’m visiting Florida, Florida State, Auburn, Alabama, Clemson and Wake Forest. I plan to be down in Gainesville in July.”

After this summer is over and he’s able to narrow things down, Boulware says he plans to focus on his senior season, while also thinking about a decision.

“I would like to make my decision either during my season or right after it because I’m graduating early,” Boulware said. “That’s why it’s important for me to see everything on these visits this summer. I want to see the academic side of things as well as the football side.”
