Florida makes the cut for top LB

Florida is looking to add two to three linebackers for the Class of 2014. The Gators currently have one already in the bag with committed prospect Christian Miller.

Looking to add a second, the Gators recently made Gardena (Ca.) Junipero Serra linebacker Dwight Williams’s top 16.

“Florida is definitely in my top 16,” Williams said. “Florida has great coaches and the program is an awesome program that is winning program. I also really like coach (Will) Muschamp, he seems like a great coach.”

The 6-foot-1, 212-pound Williams has already decided that he will take an official visit to Florida this fall to help build his relationship with the Gators.

“I talk to Florida pretty frequently,” Williams said. “I talk to coach (Brian) White on the phone and on Facebook a lot. I plan to take my official to see a game in the fall and I hope to build on our relationship and meet everyone. I want to see the campus and see the environment that coach Muschamp and the coaches tell me about. The coaches are telling me how the education program is at Florida and how nice it is, so I want to see it for myself.”

For Williams, who is ranked as one of the top linebackers in the country, having a coach like Will Muschamp is a positive according to Williams

“Coach Muschamp is a defensive minded coach and I really like that about him,” Williams said. “He is in the same category as Nick Saban and Jim Mora to me because they all focus on defense. Coach Muschamp always has a defense that strives and his experience could help me out a lot as a player. When I talk to him, I always get a good honest vibe from him.”

With Monday being the first day college coaches can visit prospects at their schools, Williams says he expects Florida to stop by this week or next.
