Florida impresses 2026 RB Jae Lamar in first visit to UF

The Florida Gators hosted several recruits on campus this past weekend for junior days. Jae Lamar, a composite four star running back in the 2026 class, visited UF for the first time on Friday.

Recruits on campus got an inside look at Florida’s football facility as well as an opportunity to observe the team workout.

“The facility caught my eye,” Lamar said after his visit. “Not just the facility, getting down here and meeting the new coaches… getting out here and meeting the coaching staff and seeing how the guys work, I really enjoy how they work. I take pride in doing work myself, because I feel like to be the best you have to work as the best.”

Lamar is an intriguing prospect. Not only is he the 121st overall prospect, he is good friends with current Gators freshman Jeramiah McCloud.

“We weren’t able to meet each other down here, but I was on the phone talking to him letting him know how the visit was going, and I think I like everything about it,” Lamar told Gator Country.

Although this was just Lamar’s first time on campus, he already thinks highly of Gators running back coach Jabbar Juluke.

“He’s just a real guy,” Lamar said on Juluke. “He keep everything 100%. He’s a very up front coach. He just wants to develop his players as a man and a football player. But to him education comes first, and I really like that.”

The 6’0, 205 pound running back couldn’t help but notice Florida’s willingness to play freshmen running backs last season, in particular Jadan Baugh, who rushed for 673 yards and seven touchdowns in his rookie campaign.

“Seeing that let me know that they definitely ain’t scared to play freshman,” Lamar said on Baugh’s production. “Those guys came out and you could tell they have been working. They came out and they absolutely dominated the field.”

Lamar told Gator Country that Florida is a priority for him, which means he will be back to watch some of the Gators’ spring practice.

“I’m going to get out to some spring practices and check out the place that I think is a priority to me, and this is one of the places I will check out,” Lamar said.

The Moultrie, GA native has official visits scheduled with Auburn (May 16-18), Georgia (May 30th-1st), and Miami (third weekend in June). Lamar tells GC he plans on scheduling an official visit with Florida as well.

“I plan on getting out here for an official visit too, I came down here and I absolutely loved the place,” Lamar said.

Florida made a good first impression on Lamar, who now has the Gators ‘high’ in his recruitment process.
