Florida Gators visitors preview for the FAU game on Saturday

The Florida Gators will welcome back a packed house in the Swamp on Saturday for the Florida Atlantic game and the coaching staff will also host recruits for the first time for a game in over a year.

While the coaching staff isn’t expecting a huge list of top prospects in the Swamp on Saturday night, the staff is still excited to finally have recruits back in the stadium.

Helping the coaching staff recruit on Saturday will be four current commits in the Class of 2022.

GatorCountry brings you a preview of this weekend’s visitors list for the Florida Atlantic game.

Commits coming to town

Four of Florida’s current commits are scheduled to be in town this weekend while most of the guys will be in town for the Alabama game later this month.

Linebacker commit EJ Lightsey will make his first trip to Gainesville since committing to Florida in August. Lightsey is solid with the Gators.

Offensive line commit David Conner is also scheduled to be in town for the first time since he committed to the Gators in August.

Defensive back commit Jamarrien Burt has been in Gainesville several times over the summer and he will make the short drive up to Gainesville on Saturday for the FAU game.

Receiver commit Chandler Smith plays in Gainesville on Friday night and then he plans to make the drive up from Orlando on Saturday to watch the season opener.

Top targets to visit

The biggest name scheduled to be in town on Saturday is cornerback Jaheim Singletary who plans to have a lot of family with him for the game. Singletary is one of the top players in the country and recently decommitted from Ohio State. Singletary likes Florida along with Georgia and Miami right now. The Gators hope to make a move to gain ground on the Bulldogs and Canes.

Offensive lineman Elijah Zollicoffer has said he’s trying to make it to the game on Saturday but at this time isn’t 100% sure. Zollicoffer is one of the few remaining targets for the Gators on the offensive line in the 2022 class.

2023 defensive back Alex Styles (6-5, 216, Pickerington, OH. Central) is one of the top players in the country in the 2023 class and he’s scheduled to be in Gainesville on Saturday. This will be Styles’ first visit to Florida.

2023 defensive back Cormani McClain is another guy who has said he’s trying to make it to Gainesville on Saturday. Lake Gibson plays at Valdosta on Friday night so this could be a tough challenge for the defensive back.

2023 linebacker Grayson Howard just picked up an offer from Florida on Thursday and he now plans to visit Gainesville on Saturday. The Jacksonville prospect is a top target for the Gators in the 2023 class.

2023 receiver Bryson Rodgers is also expected to make his first visit to Gainesville on Saturday. The Wesley Chapel native is one of the top receivers in the 2023 class.
