Florida Gators visitors preview for Florida vs. Alabama

The Florida Gators will host one of the biggest games in the Swamp under Dan Mullen on Saturday when the Alabama Crimson Tide come to town.

Saturday will also be one of the biggest recruiting weekends for the Gators under Mullen as several of the Gators’ top targets will be in town on Saturday.

GatorCountry brings you a preview of this weekend’s visitors list for the Gators as they host Alabama in the Swamp.

2022 offensive prospects to visit

One of the biggest prospects scheduled to be in town on Saturday is receiver Evan Stewart who is good friends with quarterback commit Nick Evers. Stewart has been to Gainesville twice before and the Gators are the team that many have the receiver leaning to.

Receiver Jaydon Gibson just announced he will decide in October, and he’s scheduled to be in Gainesville on Saturday. The Gators are battling Miami and Georgia for Gibson and Saturday is a big weekend for the Gators.

Utah running back commit Jaylon Glover committed to the Utes over Florida in August, but he plans to visit Gainesville on Saturday. Glover has had a strong senior year.

Offensive linemen Ramier Lewis and Ja’Kavion Nonar are both scheduled to be in Gainesville on Saturday. Lewis reclassified to the 2022 class from the 2021 class and the Gators are in good shape for the lineman. This will be the second visit to Gainesville for Lewis.

Nonar recently decommitted from Pittsburgh after picking up a Florida offer, and this will be his first visit to Gainesville since he left the Pitt class. The Gators are the team trending for Nonar.

2022 Defensive targets to visit

Defensive lineman Walter Nolen has been one of the talked about prospects in the country and he’s scheduled to visit Gainesville on Saturday with his father and brother. Tennessee, Texas A&M, and Georgia are strongly in the mix for Nolen heading into the visit.

Defensive lineman Chris McClellan will make the long trip from Oklahoma to see the Gators on Saturday after he took his official visit to Gainesville in June. The Gators are battling Oklahoma for the tackle, but McClellan has a good relationship with quarterbacks coach Garrick McGee.

Tennessee defensive tackle Jordan Phillips will be in town for the second game of the season as the Gators have turned up the heat on Phillips as of late. Last week defensive line coach David Turner watched Phillips’ high school game.

Joining those guys will defensive tackles Isaiah Hastings and Jamari Lyons as both guys are strongly considering the Gators. Hastings doesn’t have any leaders, but the Gators are one of his top teams and this will be his second visit to Gainesville this fall.

Lyons is set to decide in October and the Gators lead South Carolina heading into this week’s visit.

JUCO defensive tackle Myron Green (6-5, 317, Itawamba JUCO) is scheduled to visit Gainesville on Saturday. Green doesn’t have an offer from Florida yet, but the Gators are recruiting him hard.

Defensive lineman Shone Washington will be traveling with Green down to Gainesville on Saturday. This will be the second trip to Gainesville for the defensive lineman. LSU is the Gators competition for Washington.

Notre Dame defensive back commit Devin Moore committed to the Irish over the summer over Florida, but this weekend will be the Gators first chance to sway the defensive back.

Defensive backs Jaheim Singletary and Austin Ausberry are both scheduled to make their first appearance in the Swamp for a game this fall. Singletary left the Ohio State class this summer and Florida is battling Miami and Georgia for him. Ausberry picked up an offer from the Gators over the summer and the Gators are battling LSU for his signature.

Defensive back Azareyeh Thomas has said he would like to decide in September and the Gators are battling Georgia Tech for his commitment.

Defensive back Jarrell Stinson decommitted from Auburn where he committed to now Gators’ defensive backs coach Wesley McGriff. Stinson is favoring UCF currently.

Commits coming to town

12 of Florida’s 14 commits in the 2022 class are expected in town on Saturday as well as one of the Gators 2023 commits.

Quarterback commit Nick Evers is the Gators leader of the class and he will be in town to help the coaching staff recruit.

Running back commit Terrance Gibbs is scheduled to be in town for his first visit since committing to Florida over the summer. Gibbs is recovering from a knee injury.

Receiver commits Isaiah Bond and Chandler Smith both are scheduled to be in town on Saturday. Both guys are solid with the Gators after committing to Florida earlier this year.

Tight end commit CJ Hawkins has been solid to Florida since committing last spring and he will be in town on Saturday.

Offensive linemen David Conner and Jalen Farmer are both scheduled to be in town on Saturday for the first time since committing to Florida. Farmer just committed to Florida last week.

Defensive end Francois Nolton has been solid to Florida since committing in the spring and he has been on campus multiple times in the past.

Linebacker commits Shemar James and EJ Lightsey have both been solid to Florida since committing to the Gators and both are recruiting others to join them in Gainesville.

Defensive back commit Julian Humphrey is still taking visits to other schools and has an official visit to Georgia set up so the Gators must continue to recruit Humphrey hard, and this weekend will be another big step.

Defensive back commit Jamarrien Burt was last on campus in July, and he plans to return to Gainesville this weekend.
