Florida Gators recruiting visitors list preview for January 11th weekend

The Florida Gators will host their first round of official visitors this coming weekend as the dead period comes to an end on Friday.

Several of Florida’s top targets for the 2019 class that didn’t sign will be on campus this weekend in what’s expected to be the biggest weekend in January for the Gators.

GatorCountry brings you a Florida Gators recruiting visitors list preview for this weekend here.

Top defensive targets visiting

The Gators will host three of their top defensive targets this weekend on campus as the Gators are desperate need of defensive backs and defensive linemen to finish off the class.

Defensive back Kaiir Elam has been one of the Gators top guys on the board since Dan Mullen arrived in Gainesville. This weekend he will take his official visit to Florida and next weekend he will visit Georgia. The Gators are battling Georgia for Elam’s signature.

Defensive lineman Charles Moore just recently decomitted from Mississippi State and will visit Florida this weekend. Moore was once committed to Mullen at Mississippi State but heading into the visit Moore has the Gators sitting outside his top three list of schools

Joining those guys is defensive end Smith Vilbert who picked up an offer from Florida in November and most think is leaning towards Penn State heading into the visit. Vilbert has a good relationship with the Gators staff and this weekend could help the Gators catch Penn State.

Offensive targets visiting

The Gators will have two offensive targets and their lone remaining offensive commit that didn’t sign early on campus this weekend.

Receiver commit Arjei Henderson is expected to visit to be on campus for the first time this weekend. Henderson committed to Florida at the Under Armour before he ever visited Gainesville so this weekend is key to getting the receiver comfortable with Florida.

Athlete Mark-Antony Richards has been one of Mullen’s top targets since he arrived in town because of Richards’ ability to play multiple positions. Richards heads into the visit with strong interest in Florida, Penn State, Auburn and Miami so the Gators need a good visit to take the lead in his recruitment.

Joining those guys is offensive lineman Ira Henry who offensive line coach John Hevesy is very high on. Henry will take visits to Florida State and Oklahoma after he visits Gainesville but the lineman says he has a lot of interest in the Gators before he ever steps foot in Gainesville.
