Florida Gators recruiting visitors list: Junior Day January 28th

The Florida Gators will close out the month of January on Saturday when the coaching staff hosts the last junior day of the month.

Florida has hosted two junior days already this month and had over a dozen prospects on campus both weekends and that will continue Saturday when several big prospects visit Gainesville.

Billy Napier and his coaching staff have spent the month on the road recruiting prospects at their high schools and a lot of that hard work has paid off with the amount prospects visiting Gainesville.

GatorCountry brings you a look at this weekend’s visitors list as the Gators cap off a busy month of January.

Quarterback commit coming to town

2024 quarterback commit DJ Lagway has been on campus a lot and he will return this weekend for the first time since November. Lagway is a big recruiter for the Gators, and he will have the opportunity to do just that this weekend. Lagway will also have the chance to continue to build on his relationships with the coaching staff.

Offensive side of the ball well represented

Headlining the prospects on the offensive side of the ball will be 2024 running back Jerrick Gibson who’s ranked as one of the top backs in the country and was once a commit to Florida. Gibson has a lot of teams coming after him hard and the Gators are hoping to regain some momentum with the running back this weekend.

Athlete Lawayne McCoy (6-0, 170, Miami, FL. Central) is scheduled to be on campus this weekend in hopes of picking up an offer from the Gators. McCoy has several big offers already and he’s someone that the Gators could offer this weekend.

Offensive lineman Nyier Daniels (6-7, 340, Oradell, NJ. Bergen Catholic) plans to make the long trip from New Jersey on Saturday as he has been building a relationship with Rob Sale and the rest of the coaching staff. This will be Daniels’ first trip to Gainesville on Saturday and the Gators hope to gain some momentum in his recruitment.

Offensive lineman Blake Frazier (6-5, 260, Austin, TX. Vandegrift) will make the trip to Gainesville from Texas this weekend. Florida has already offered Frazier, and this will be the first time for the lineman to visit Gainesville.

Offensive lineman Santana Alo-Tupuola (6-1, 325, Bradenton, FL. IMG Academy) has already offered the lineman but this will be his first visit to campus. The IMG lineman is originally from Indianapolis before moving to IMG.

Defensive prospects to visit UF

Headlining the group this weekend will be linebacker Adarius Hayes who has Florida as his leader, and he was just on campus last weekend and plans to return this weekend. The Gators are sitting in good shape with Hayes as he wants to decide either in the spring or summer.

Defensive end KingJoseph Edwards (6-5, 242, Hoschton, GA. Mill Creek) has been on campus before and he plans to return this weekend. Edwards has Georgia and South Carolina leading the way right now but the Gators are in the mix.

Defensive lineman LJ McCray (6-5, 255, Daytona Beach, FL. Mainland) already has an offer from Florida and he plans to be on campus this weekend. McCray is a good athlete who plays both defensive line and tight end in high school.

Defensive lineman Dimitry Nicolas (6-3, 275, Opa Locka, FL. Monsignor Pace) picked up an offer from Florida over the summer and is someone the Gators have kept in touch with and recruited hard so far this year.

Linebacker Qua Birdsong (6-1, 180, Lagrange, GA. Troup County) will be on campus for the first time this weekend and the Gators could offer the Georgia native during the trip. Florida has been in contact with Birdsong a lot and an offer would help the Gators’ chances.

Safety Zavier Mincey (6-3, 190, Daytona Beach, FL. Mainland) will join his teammate McCray in Gainesville on Saturday. The Gators and a lot of other SEC schools have already offered Mincey.

Florida State defensive back commit Jordan Pride (6-1, 175, Blountstown, FL. High) has been on campus a lot already and the Gators and Georgia are pushing to flip the Noles commit. Pride likes the Gators a lot and the Gators hope to keep up the momentum with the defensive back on Saturday.

2025 defensive end Jared Smith

2025 defensive back Chasen Johnson
