Florida Gators recruiting visitors list: January 14th junior day

The Florida Gators are pretty much done with the 2023 class as they signed 20 prospects in December and 16 of those guys are on campus already.

Billy Napier and his staff will spend the month of January hosting several junior days as they look to get a head start on the 2024 class.

Starting this weekend, the Gators will host a handful of 2023 prospects on campus as well as one 2023 prospect.

GatorCountry brings you a look at this weekend’s visitors list as the Gators start off junior days on Saturday morning.

Offensive targets to visit

The Gators already have one running back committed in the class and this weekend they will host in-state 2024 running back Anthony Carrie on campus. Carrie has been on campus several times already and holds offers from Georgia, LSU, and South Carolina already.

2024 offensive lineman Jake Guarnera was on campus multiple times this fall and likes Napier and his coaching staff. Guarnera hasn’t released any top schools or a decision date, but the Gators currently sit in a good spot for the lineman. Florida State is also heavily involved with Guarnera.

Defensive targets to visit

The Gators signed a good defensive line class in 2023 and they’re hoping to add to it in the 2024 class one of their biggest targets will be on campus this weekend. Gainesville native 2024 defensive lineman Kendall Jackson was on campus for all of Florida’s home games this fall, and he will be on campus this weekend. Florida is in good shape for Jackson early on as the Gators were one of his first offers.

2024 defensive back Ju’Juan Johnson will make the trip to Gainesville from Louisiana on Saturday after the Gators offered him December. Alabama and LSU are both recruiting Johnson hard, but Johnson likes defensive backs coach Corey Raymond. This will be the first visit to Gainesville for Johnson.

2023 prospect to visit

2023 Marshall defensive end commit Layne Swafford doesn’t have an offer from Florida yet, but he plans to be on campus this weekend. The Gators are keeping an eye on Swafford as the Gators still would like to add a defensive end in the class.

Elite 2025 prospect to visit

2025 safety DJ Pickett has been on campus several times already and the in-state prospect likes the Gators a lot but Florida State and Ohio State are also in the mix for Pickett.
