Florida Gators recruiting visitors list for the Kentucky game

The Florida Gators played host to over 100 prospects last week for the Utah game and they will once again host several top targets on campus this weekend for the Kentucky game.

Billy Napier and this team pulled off the upset over Utah and they will once again play in front of a sold-out Swamp for the first SEC game of the season.

The atmosphere in the Swamp should once again be a good one and several key uncommitted targets will be in the endzone to watch the game.

GatorCountry brings you a preview of the visitors expected in the town on Saturday night.

Top defensive line target to visit

Defensive end Keon Keeley is one of the top prospects in the country and he will be on campus for the first since the spring this weekend. Keeley was going to use this weekend for an official visit but Florida pushed that back for later in the year so they will be in town on Saturday and Sunday for an unofficial visit. Keeley recently decommitted from Notre Dame and now Alabama, Ohio State, and Florida are the top contenders for Keeley.

Florida going for the flip

Billy Napier and his staff are hoping to flip Florida State offensive line commit Roderick Kearney who will be in Gainesville for the second weekend in a row. Kearney has been a top target for the Gators since the spring and they’ve stayed on him despite his committed to the Noles. Kearney is very close with running back Treyaun Webb and that has helped the Gators out. Kearney says he’s still committed to Florida State, but Florida is making a run here.

Top defensive backs to visit

Defensive back Dijon Johnson will be back on campus for the second straight week as the Gators continue to trend for Johnson. Johnson has said he wants to take visits before announcing a decision, but he says his final official visit will be to Florida.

Safety Bryce Thornton will also be on campus this weekend for the first time since the summer. Thornton is down to Florida and Alabama, and he says he wants to announce a decision in November. The Gators are the team to beat for Thornton heading into this weekend’s visit.

Ole Miss safety commit Ahmad Brown also says he will be on campus this weekend and while he doesn’t have an offer from the Gators at this time, he’s someone that the Gators have been recruiting. Brown plays both receiver and safety in high school and is someone that the Gators will continue to watch closely this fall.

Several other 2023 targets to visit

While the Gators have offered a lot of guys in the class already, they will host a few prospects this weekend that currently do not hold offers from Florida yet but are guys that the staff is watching closely.

Utah running back commit Michael Mitchell is expected in town after visiting Gainesville for Friday Night Lights earlier this summer. Mitchell doesn’t have an offer from Florida currently, but the staff is watching him closely.

USF running back commit RJ Oliver is another running back that the staff is watching closely but doesn’t have an offer from Florida currently.

Linebacker Desirrio Riles camped for the staff several times this summer and is someone that linebackers coach Jay Bateman has been in contact with a lot and is watching his senior year closely. Riles will take in his first game this weekend.

Commits coming to town

Helping the Florida staff recruit these top targets will be several of Florida’s commits in the 2023 class.

Quarterback Marcus Stokes, running back Treyaun Webb, and receiver commits Aidan Mizell, Tyree Patterson, and Creed Whittemore are all expected in the Swamp on Saturday.

Defensive line commits TJ Searcy, Isaiah Nixon, Gavin Hill, Kelby Collins, and Kamran James will all be in town with linebacker commit Jaden Robinson and defensive backs commits Ja’Keem Jackson and Shariff Denson.

2024 prospects coming to town

Several of the Gators’ top 2024 targets are expected in town on Saturday including top quarterback target DJ Lagway who will make the trip to town from Texas. Lagway was in Gainesville for Friday Night Lights and has been in town a lot since Napier arrived at Florida.

The following guys are also expected in town this weekend.

LSU tight end commit Tayvion Galloway

Defensive lineman Kendall Jackson

Linebacker Adarius Hayes

Defensive back Tavoy Feagin
