Florida Gators recruiting visitors list for January 21st weekend

The Florida Gators will once again host a lot of visitors on campus this weekend as Billy Napier and his coaching staff put the finishing touches on the 2022 class.

Joining the official visitors this weekend will be several underclassmen who will be taking unofficial visits to meet Napier and his staff.

Napier and his staff will have the help of three Florida signees to help recruit the other recruits on campus.

GatorCountry brings you a look at the prospects who are expected in Gainesville this weekend.

Two defensive targets to visit

One of the biggest remaining targets for the Gators is scheduled to be on campus this weekend when safety Jacoby Matthews visits Gainesville. Florida is battling LSU and Texas A&M for the Louisiana native who plans to visit LSU next weekend. Matthews is a good relationship with defensive backs coach Corey Raymond.

Defensive end Jayson Jenkins received the first visit from defensive line coach Sean Spencer on Wednesday, and he plans to visit Gainesville for the first time this weekend. Jenkins plans to visit Tennessee next weekend.

Two offensive targets to visit

Napier landed quarterback Jack Miller from Ohio State, but he wants to add a high school quarterback to the class and this weekend Central Michigan quarterback Max Brown plans to visit Gainesville. Billy Napier, William Peagler, and Ryan O’Hara visited Brown on Monday.

Tight end Hayden Hansen is very familiar with Napier as he was committed to Louisiana when the Gators head coach was there. Hansen will get his first look at Florida this weekend and if the Gators decide to offer Hansen, the Gators will be tough to beat.

Signees set to visit

Linebacker signee Shemar James and kicker signee Trey Smack were both scheduled to visit last weekend but had to move their visits to this weekend. It will be the first time for both guys to be around the entire coaching staff.

Tight end signee Tony Livingston will get to meet tight ends coach William Peagler this weekend as he looks to build a relationship with his future coaching staff.

Underclassmen set to visit

As Napier and his staff try to finish off the 2022 class, they also know how important it’s to get started on next year’s class. This weekend they will host several of the top players for 2023 on campus for unofficial visits.

Running back Cedric Baxter was re-offered by Jabbar Juluke this weekend and will be on campus on Sunday.

Receiver Bryson Rodgers was very high on Florida last year and was a frequent visitor to Gainesville, but this will be his first time to meet the new coaching staff.

Defensive line teammates Derrick LeBlanc and John Walker both plan to be on campus on Sunday. The Gators have been trending for LeBlanc since last fall and this will be a chance for him to meet Sean Spencer for the first time.

Defensive back AJ Harris will make the drive over from Alabama to visit Florida and Harris is considered one of the top players for the 2023 class.
