Florida Gators recruiting reaction to Dan Mullen hiring

The Florida Gators made headlines on Sunday when they hired Dan Mullen away from Mississippi State to be the Gators new head coach.

Recruits around the country were watching and had reactions to the news as the Gators have a new coach.

GatorCountry talked to these recruits to get their reaction in this recruiting piece.

Jacob Copeland- “”He always been a GREAT coach in my eyes. But being at MSU where he didn’t have any playmakers made him sorts look bad. He open a lot of eyes against Bama couple weeks ago. Not too many coaches can say they gave Saban a run for it. Him being the UF next head coach can change the culture on the serious note. Just gotta be patient and trust the man. He’s there to make things Great again!”

Running back commit Dameon Pierce- ““If he keeps Seider everything straight with him. But if he just so happens to to get rid of Seider than I’m leaving.”

Athlete commit Amari Burney-“If it’s Mullen then lets go get Florida back where they need to be. The fans deserve better than what they’ve been getting.”

Receiver Anthony Schwartz-“I know he had a great past at Florida but looking at what his offense did this season they weren’t a great pass so I don’t know how this will pan out.”

Offensive line commit Richard Gouraige-“I will let God handle it.”

Defensive back CJ Smith-“ I’m not really sure but I heard he’s a great guy and a great coach but hopefully if he does get hired than him and his staff continue to recruit me cause it’s a possibility they might land me.”

2019 offensive lineman Dontae Lucas-“ Don’t know to much about him but Ik he a offensive mind, great luck for Florida. I hope guys like coach hova coach bell coach Shannon Stay On Me More now it could be a possible commit lol.

2019 commit Marcus Tillman-“I talked to my head coach and he said he’s a good guy. Mississippi State offered me last year but I haven’t met him.”

2019 receiver commit Trent Whitemore-“I think it’s a great hire. I remember his offense here with Tim Tebow and the championships and obviously he’s well at Mississippi State. I have lots of respect for him and again I think it’s a great hire.”

2019 offensive line commit Andrew Coker-“I’m excited to see what he can bring offensively.”

2019 receiver commit Frank Ladson-“I’m excited and I’ve been hearing good things about him and what he’s done in the past for Florida.”
