Florida Gators recruiting coaching visits for April 26th

The Florida Gators recruiting buzz was very positive on Monday as the Gators assistant coaches hit the road for the first time this spring during the evaluation period. On Monday the Gators were in Jacksonville, Orlando and even in Bradenton at IMG Academy evaluating prospects and talking to coaches.

Tuesday will be another jam packed day, as the Gators coaches will continue to work their way down the state, taking them to Orlando, St. Petersburg and into the Fort Myers area. All nine assistant coaches will be out visiting as many high schools as they can during the day on Tuesday in the areas they’re assigned to.

GatorCountry will now highlight where the assistant coaches are scheduled to be during the day on Tuesday. This is only a preview and there will be more players seen then we highlight.

Offensive coordinator Doug Nussmeier is scheduled to be in the St. Petersburg area where he will check on schools like Admiral Farragut, Gibbs and St. Petersburg Catholic. Nussmeier is also scheduled to watch receiver Matt Landers (6-3, 177, St. Petersburg, FL Lakewood) practice on Tuesday.

Running backs coach Tim Skipper and defensive backs coach Torrian Gray will tag team the Fort Myers area on Tuesday while focusing on two big time running backs. Florida State running back commit Zaquandre White (5-11, 203, North Fort Myers, FL High) is coached by former Gators running back Earnest Graham and they will be visited by Skipper and Gray on Tuesday. White is a big target for the Gators. While in Fort Myers the two coaches are also scheduled to visit running back Darrien Felix (5-10, 187, Fort Myers, FL High) who is still looking for a Florida offer.

Receivers coach Kerry Dixon will continue to work the east coast part of the state and will also check out top 2018 running back Lorenzo Lingard (6-0, 180, Orange City, FL University High School) who is a big target for next year. Lingard has Florida and Florida State high on his list.

Tight ends coach Greg Nord will be in his area recruiting ground on Tuesday and will visit Vanguard High School as well as North Marion high school. North Marion produced receiver Freddie Swain last year and they’re home to 2018 athlete Justin Watkins who has the Gators in his top group.

Offensive line coach Mike Summers will be working several high schools on Tuesday including stops at Brandon High, Durant High and East Bay. In the afternoon Summers is expected to watch 2018 quarterback Devin Black (6-2, 180, Ruskin, FL Lennard) practice. The Gators have yet to offer Black but are evaluating him.

Defensive coordinator Geoff Collins is scheduled to visit Hardee High, Desoto County, Charlotte High and Venice High School on Tuesday.

Linebackers coach Randy Shannon will be in Immokalee to visit the high school there as well going to Naples High, Barron and Lely High School.

Defensive line coach Chris Rumph will see 2018 defensive end Stacy Kirby (6-2, 205, Orlando, FL Jones) and 2018 defensive end Dennis Briggs (6-3, 238, Kissimmee, FL Gateway) while in the Orlando area.
