Kitna, the son of former NFL quarterback Jon Kitna, signed with Florida as a member of the 2021 recruiting class. Kitna did not appear in a game in his freshman season but had taken over the role of backup QB for the Gators in 2022. Kitna appeared in three games this season, completing 10 of 14 pass attempts for 181 yards and a touchdown.

Kitna had a chance to make his first start in Florida’s bowl game, pending Anthony Richardson’s NFL decision.

Gator Country will continue to monitor this situation and will update with more information when we can. This is a developing story.
