The Florida Gators hosted some of the top underclassmen on campus this summer as the state of Florida is full of top guys in the 2021 class.
One of those guys who visited campus this summer was 2021 defensive tackle Leonard Taylor (6-4, 240, Miami, FL. Palmetto) who was campus twice in the last two months.
“The visit was good,” Taylor said of his visit to Florida for Friday Night Lights. “It was fun working with Coach [David] Turner, he’s a good person. I had fun with him working out.”
Defensive line coach David Turner has been the main recruiter for Taylor so far and the two have built a good relationship while Turner has been giving the 2021 prospect a message about the Gators.
“Coach Turner really wants me to come here,” he said on the message from the Gators coaching staff. “I feel like I’m priority to him and the other coaches right now. He wants me to be a Gator and says that I would have a big role on the defensive line.”
The Gators have some tough competition for Taylor as several other big name schools are recruiting the defensive tackle hard.
“Miami, Georgia, Auburn, Tennessee and Florida really,” Taylor said on schools recruiting him hard. “Those would be my top schools right now.”
Taylor has a lot of interest in the Gators and he explained exactly what it’s about Florida that keeps him coming back to Gainesville for more visits.
“The environment and the coaches,” he said on what he likes about Florida. “I have a good connection with the coaches, they just want me to see me good and great.”
