Florida Gators official visitors preview: December 15th weekend

The Florida Gators will host official visitors on campus this weekend for the second straight weekend as they look to close the Class of 2024 strong.

Four prospects are scheduled to be on official visits this weekend and one commit will be in town for an unofficial visit.

GatorCountry brings you a look at this weekend’s visitors list ahead of Wednesday’s signing day.

Commit coming to town

Quarterback commit DJ Lagway has been the leader of the class and he will be in town one more time before he puts pen to paper on Wednesday. Texas A&M has come on strong with Lagway since Mike Elko took over in College Station but Lagway visiting Florida this weekend was something the staff pushed for.

Offensive linemen to visit

The biggest need for the Florida Gators is offensive linemen and this weekend they will host prospects on campus and both of them play offensive tackle which is a position that the Gators need depth at.

JUCO offensive lineman Maurice Rodrigues picked up an offer from Florida last week and he quickly set up a visit to Florida. Texas Tech and USC have also offered Rodrigues so far and the Gators are hoping the last visit will help them land the JUCO tackle.

San Diego State offensive lineman Brandon Crenshaw-Dickson has one year left and he plans to visit Gainesville this weekend. Crenshaw-Dickson has been to TCU and Virginia Tech already ahead of this weekend’s visit to Gainesville.

Defenders to visit

Texas A&M safety Jardin Gilbert plans to be on campus this weekend as Gilbert is a guy who’s familiar with the SEC. Gilbert wants to play more and he sees the early playing time that the Gators have to offer.

JUCO defensive lineman Malcolm Alcorn-Crowder picked up an offer from Florida in November and has been talking with the staff since then. The JUCO lineman has visited Cincinnati and Kansas State already with his last visit to Florida this weekend.
