Florida Gators’ offer a “dream come true” for Thomas

On Monday, the Florida Gators coaching staff sent out a new offer to underclassmen that’s a top out of state prospect.

2022 receiver Kevin Thomas (6-3, 187, Haverford, PA. Neumann Goretti) picked up the offer after he talked to one of the Gators assistant coaches.

“Coach Tim Brewster offered me,” Thomas said of the coach who offered him on Monday. “He said he liked my film and with my size and speed, I could be a good fit for the program.”

Thomas has several big offers already but he admits receiving the news from the Gators was big to him.

“It means a lot to me,” he said on what the offer means to him. “Florida is one of my dream schools, I loved watching the Gators when I was younger and I still do. When I got the offer I was in shock because it felt like a dream come true.”

Tight ends coach Tim Brewster explained to Thomas on Monday why the Gators like his game and how he fits into Florida’s offense.

“He said he likes my size and speed,” Thomas said on what Brewster told him. “He says that I could be a mismatch for defensive backs and also he liked how I attack the ball in the air.”

Thomas doesn’t know a lot about the Gators program in general but he does know a few things including how successful the Gators track program is.

“I know Dan Mullen is a great coach,” he said on what he knows about Florida. “I know they have a history of great players and also they have a great track program that I might be considering joining.”

Now that Thomas has an offer from the Gators, the receiver says he has a lot of interest in the Gators but several others are also recruiting him hard.

“I’m very interested in Florida,” Thomas said of his interest in Florida and other schools recruiting him hard. “Michigan State, Nebraska, Tennessee and Arizona State are recruiting me hard.”
