Florida Gators to host big recruits on Saturday

The Florida Gators put on a show last Saturday afternoon in front of a few prospects and this week, when the Gators open up SEC play they will host several top-notch prospects.

This weekend the Florida Gators will also host its first official visitor of the season but most of the visits this weekend will be unofficial visitors who are just coming in to see the Gators in action.

Official Visitor

Word got out on Wednesday that Missouri tight end commit Daniel Imatorbhebhe (6-4, 230, Suwanee, GA North Gwinnett) was taking an official visit to Florida. Imatorbhebhe committed to Missouri over the summer but before then had taken an unofficial visit to Florida and had a good trip.

One thing going in Florida’s favor is that Imatorbhebhe’s mother is in favor of Florida, as education is big in the family.

Florida will also get a chance to host Imatorbhebhe’s younger brother receiver Josh Imatorbhebhe (6-2, 202, Suwanee, GA North Gwinnett) who is consider one of the top prospects in Georgia for next year. The brothers want to play together so impressing the younger brother will only help the Gators chances of flipping Daniel from Missouri.

Flipper trying to flip a trio of backs

A pair of Miami running back commits Dexter Williams (6-0, 190, Orlando, FL West Orange) and Jordan Cronkrite (5-11, 200, Miami, FL Westminster Christian) are scheduled to be in attendance for a visit on Saturday.

Williams was scheduled to visit last weekend but a late change plans stopped that visit. Williams and his father have said they will be in Gainesville on Saturday as Will Muschamp continues trying to flip the talented back.

Cronkrite told Gator Country on Sunday that running backs coach Brian White has been in touch with him a lot lately and that he hasn’t talked to Miami in a few weeks. The Gators would love to flip the talented athlete.

While these two are big targets for Florida the guy that will likely get all of the headlines on Saturday is Clemson running back commit Ray-Ray McCloud (5-9, 176, Tampa, FL Sickles) who is expected to visit Florida on Saturday after he attends his younger brother’s football game on Saturday morning.

Four big targets to be in town

Four of Florida’s biggest targets left on the board are also scheduled to be in town led by defensive end CeCe Jefferson (6-3, 250, Glen St. Mary, FL Baker Country) who will be in Gainesville for the third straight weekend. Florida is considered to be the favorite for Jefferson and three visits in a row only helps the Gators.

Offensive lineman Jalen Merrick (6-5, 295, New Smyrna Beach, FL High) was at Miami last weekend and he will see Florida the next two weekends in a row as Merrick will take an unofficial to Florida this weekend and follow that up by taking an official to Alabama next weekend when the Gators travel to take on the Crimson Tide.

Cornerback Jeremy McDuffie (5-11, 170, Snellville, GA Shiloh) is the third big time target expected in Gainesville. This will be the second trip to Florida for McDuffie who likes Florida a lot due to his interest in the track and field program the Florida Gators have.

Safety Tim Irvin (5-8, 162, Palmetto Bay, FL Westminster Christian) is the fourth prospect who confirmed to Gator Country that he will be visiting Florida on Saturday evening in Gainesville.

Commits visiting

Lead recruiter offensive lineman Tyler Jordan, tight end Kalif Jackson and tight end Camrin Knight have all said they plan to be in attendance as the Florida Gators take on the Kentucky Wildcats. This is important as Will Muschamp and the coaching staff like for these guys to recruit for Florida during the game.

Other notes

2016 tight end Jacob Mathis (6-4, 212, Tampa, FL Berkeley Prep) is expected to take his second visit to Florida this fall on Saturday.

2016 quarterback Matt Dame (6-2, 172, Riviera, FL Suncoast) has been in contact with Kurt Roper as of late and will visit Florida this weekend as he looks to pick up an offer from the Gators.
