Several out of state prospects visited the Florida Gators on Saturday for the second junior day of the year.
Defensive end/linebacker Jeremiah Williams (6-3, 224, Birmingham, AL. Ramsay) made his first trip to Gainesville on Saturday and enjoyed his time on campus.
“The visit was amazing, Florida did not disappoint,” Williams said of his visit to Florida. “I got to visit the campus, look at the strength and conditioning facilities, take photos, go to the basketball game and I chilled with Coach [Dan] Mullen and Coach CRob [Christian Robinson].”
Linebackers coach Christian Robinson has been the main recruiting for Williams and he explained to the defensive end on Saturday how he would fit into Florida’s defense.
“He sees me as a hybrid defensive end/linebacker,” he said on where Robinson sees him playing. “I can play basically any linebacker position due to my athleticism and versatility. That’s the role I’m playing in high school now.”
Head coach Dan Mullen also talked with Williams on Saturday about the Gators program.
“He said he needs guys like me to win championships,” Williams said of the message from Mullen. “He stressed how Florida is a top 10 athletic and academic school.”
Williams has several big offers already but he says he isn’t ready to name any top schools but he does like the Gators program.
“Everything is still neutral right now,” he said on top schools. “I love Florida.”
Florida isn’t the only big name school recruiting Williams hard as he says several top schools are after him.
“Alabama, Auburn, Tennessee, and Oklahoma,” Williams said on other schools recruiting him hard. “Right now I don’t have any other visits planned.”
