Florida Gators defensive backs recruiting board for 2019

The Florida Gators have already two defensive backs in the class of 2019 but with depth low at the position, the Gators are aiming to add more

Entering fall camp the Gators have commitments from defensive backs Chester Kimbrough and Trent Whittemore with Whittemore being a guy who could easily end up on the offensive side of the ball as well.

GatorCountry brings you the top targets at this time to finish off the class at defensive back.

Cornerbacks

Kaiir Elam (6-1, 190, North Palm Beach, FL. The Benjamin School)- the younger nephew of former Gators safety Matt Elam. Elam has been high on Florida since he was offered and he recently visited the Gators for Friday Night Lights. Florida, Ohio State and Georgia are all teams high on Elam’s list of school. Elam likely takes his recruitment to signing day or close to it.

Jaydon Hill (6-0, 172, Madison, AL. Bob Jones)- Hill took his first visit to Florida for Friday Night Lights and the Gators blew the visit out of the water during that two day trip. Hill came into the visit with South Carolina and Tennessee ahead of the Gators but now the Gators are neck and neck with Tennessee with a decision likely coming in September.

Tyrique Stevenson (6-1, 202, Miami, FL. Southridge)- Stevenson a former commit still talks to Florida a lot but the Gators seem to be behind Georgia by a good bit at this point. Miami right now would probably be in second place but the Gators will try and get Stevenson on campus this fall.

Safeties

Ohio State commit Jordan Battle (6-1, 187, Fort Lauderdale, FL. St. Thomas Aquinas)- Battle committed to Ohio State this spring but with all the issues going on at Ohio State, Battle remains in touch with the Gators. Battle says he plans to visit Gainesville this fall as Florida continues to recruit the safety.

Nick Cross (6-1, 207, Hyattsville, MD. DeMatha Catholic)- Cross’ decision could come at anytime now as the safety has been close to a decision for sometime now. Florida State is the team to beat after multiple trips to Tallahassee for Cross but the Gators remain in the picture for the out of state safety.

Cortez Andrews (6-0, 205, Tallahassee, Fl. Godby)- Andrews visited Florida in the spring but hasn’t visited Gainesville since then. Florida, Alabama, Florida State and Georgia are all teams recruiting Andrews but a decision likely doesn’t come anytime soon for the safety.
