Florida Gators defeats ECU 31-24

The Florida Gators (2-0) behind a good defensive performance defeated ECU on Saturday night by a score of 31-24.

Florida’s offense struggled on the night with both quarterbacks having mistakes on the night that resulted in two turnovers for the Gators and just 373 total yards of offense.

The key stat of the night however was that the Florida Gators committed 12 penalties after only having one in the Gators win over New Mexico State.

FIRST QUARTER:

  1. Not what we expected. Defense in the 2nd half was disappointing. I heard them say multiple times…”the Gators sure do miss Hargreaves”….well yeah, we do. But could he have stopped 250 yds passing in in the 2nd half all by himself? No.

    You can’t deny that the offense looks more dynamic than it has in the last 5 years. Mac has clearly made difference. As disappointing as the score was, we have never moved the ball like that under WM. and as far as the QB situation goes, Grier just looks more like a quarterback. Treon is certainly capable, but Grier is the future. I think it’s obvious.
