Florida Gators commit Jamarrien Burt had a “great” FNL visit

Most of the Florida Gators’ commits decided to work out at Friday Night Lights despite already having an offer and being in the class.

Defensive back commit Jamarrien Burt (6-1, 175, Ocala, FL. Forest) was one of those guys who worked out as he wanted the whole coaching staff to understand what he was bringing to the team next year.

“It was great, I liked everything I seen,” Burt said of his visit to Florida. “I wanted to show the rest of the coaches what I had to offer.”

Defensive back coaches Jules Montinar and Wesley McGriff watched Burt closely and they’ve told him where he would play at on defense and what they like about his game.

“It’s either going to be corner or nickel, that’s what they’ve told me,” he said on where the coaches want him to play. “They like me in man coverage.”

Burt was able to spend a lot of time with several of Florida’s commits on Friday, but the defensive back said he already knew most of those guys.

“I knew most of them before Florida, before they even committed here [Florida],” Burt said on meeting the rest of the commits this weekend. “So, I guess we all kind of already had a relationship with each other.”

Now that Burt has committed to the Gators, the defensive back says his recruitment is pretty much over as he looks forward to his official visit to Florida.

“I’m pretty much done,” he said on if he plans to take other visits. “I will probably take my official visit here [Florida] in the fall.”
