The Florida Gators are expected to hire Tulane’s Bam Hardmon as their outside linebackers coach, according to multiple sources.
This may be a familiar face to Gator fans as Hardmon was a linebacker at Florida from 1999-2002, earning Second Team All-SEC in 2000 while helping claim an SEC Championship.
Hardmon spent the past two seasons as Tulane’s run game coordinator and outside linebackers coach, helping guide the Green Wave to back-to-back American Conference Championship appearances, capped by a title win in 2025.
The 44-year-old spent nine seasons with Troy from 2015-23, mostly coaching linebackers during that span. A 2018 Broyles Award nominee and 2020 finalist for Football Scoop Linebackers Coach of the Year, Hardmon worked for five years coaching Troy’s outside linebackers and serving as the defensive run game coordinator following four years coaching the inside linebackers and bandits.
Hardmon also brings defensive line coaching experience, having led Idaho’s defensive front from 2013–15 and previously working with Illinois’ defensive line as a graduate assistant from 2008–11.
The Jacksonville, Florida native was a special teams coordinator and outside linebackers coach for Charleston Southern in 2012.
