Gator Country can confirm that Florida is expected to hire former Jacksonville Jaguars general manager David Caldwell to be the Gators’ next general manager. First reported by Pete Nakos of On3.
Gator Country reported earlier this morning that Florida had interviewed Caldwell for the role.
Caldwell served as the Jacksonville Jaguars general manager from 2013-20. In 2021, Caldwell joined the Philadelphia Eagles as a personnel executive.
The 51-year-old started his career with the Carolina Panthers, serving as a scouting assistant from 1996-97. Caldwell then joined the Indianapolis Colts as an area scout from 1998-2007.
From 2008-12, the Buffalo, New York native joined the Atlanta Falcons front office, serving as the Director of College Scouting from 2008-11 and the Director of Player Personnel in 2012.
