Five offensive prospects to watch for the Florida Gators in June

The Florida Gators will host over 20 prospects in June on official visits as Billy Napier’s staff prepares for one of the busiest months of their short time in Gainesville.

Right now, the Gators currently have five commits in the class of 2023 and that’s surely to grow in June after official visits.

GatorCountry is going to look at five prospects on both sides of the ball that the Gators look to gain ground on this summer with visits. We will start with the offensive side of the ball and finish on the defensive side of the ball in part two.

Offensive targets

Quarterback Jaden Rashada- Rashada is scheduled to be in Gainesville on Wednesday through Friday for an unofficial visit and he will also return to Gainesville for an official visit in June. Rashada is scheduled to announce his commitment on June 18th so the Gators will have two chances to improve their standing with Rashada. Rashada’s father has a relationship with Billy Napier that dates back to his time at Arizona State. The Gators are still looking to add a quarterback in the class and a lot of their top targets are leaning elsewhere so Rashada could be the Gators best chance at landing one of the top quarterbacks in the class.

Running Back Cedric Baxter- Baxter has been to Gainesville more than any other place but the Gators still need to gain momentum in his recruitment as Texas A&M is trending quickly for the running back. Baxter hasn’t set a return visit to Florida yet, but he’s expected back in town in June. Baxter has been one of the Gators top targets in the class and continuing to gain momentum with Baxter is big.

Receiver Andy Jean- Jean decommitted from Miami this spring and that was shortly after he picked up an offer from the Gators after visiting Gainesville. Jean has seen his recruitment blow up recently and the Gators are battling Georgia, Miami, and Texas A&M as the Canes are trying to get him back in the class. Right now Florida is the only school that Jean has set an official visit to and that will take place on June 24th.

Tight end Reid Mikeska- The Gators are still searching for a tight end in the class and Mikeska has been one of the Gators top targets since February. Mikeska recently decommitted from Clemson and now it looks like both Florida and Oklahoma are the teams to watch. Mikeska will be in Gainesville on June 17th for an official visit and in Norman on June 3rd.

Offensive lineman Lucas Simmons- Simmons has been one of the Gators top targets on the offensive line for months now and the staff has gone all out on the lineman. Simmons plans to take five official visits and has already taken one to Oklahoma State and plans to take one to Florida, Florida State, Tennessee, and USC in June. Simmons moved his visit to Florida to June 20th so that both of his parents could join him in Gainesville. Right now this seems like a Florida/Florida State battle and official visits will likely determine where the lineman ends up.
