The Florida Gators have been very active in recruiting the state of Alabama the last few years and last week, the coaching staff offered one of the top prospects in the state.
2022 defensive end Justice Finkley (6-2, 255, Trussville, AL. Hewit-Trussville) is the latest Alabama prospect to pick up an offer from the Gators.
“Coach [Christian] Robinson offered me,” Finkley said on the coach who offered him. “He said that he considers me a great fit at Florida and that they just don’t offer anybody out of Alabama. They offer players that they think can bring talent to the talent.”
Finkley has four SEC offers now and he says picking up one from Florida was big to him.
“It’s honor to be offered by another top SEC school,” he said. “Florida is always competing for conference championships.”
Linebackers coach Christian Robinson explained to Finkley how he would fit into the Gators defense and where he would play at for the Gators.
“He said he could see me as an outside linebacker or a hybrid outside linebacker or defensive end,” Finkley said on where Robinson wants him to play. “They like how I play the game with passion and how fast I can come off the edge and be a run stopper.”
Finkley says he would like to visit Gainesville but he already knows a few things about Florida’s program.
“They play in the SEC which is a highly competitive conference, they also have lots of talent on the interior, which will better prepare me for the next level,” he said on what he knows about Florida. “I don’t know much about Florida’s defense but I’m going to start doing my research.”
