Douglas felt a part of the Florida Gators win over LSU

The Florida Gators knocked off the LSU Tigers in Gainesville on Saturday and several prospects from the state of Louisiana were in town to see that.

2020 athlete Jakhi Douglas (5-9, 184, Houma, LA. Terrebonne) was in the Swamp and liked the environment.

“My reaction was great, it feel great to see the Gators come out with the dub [Win],” Douglas said of his impressions of his visit to Florida on Saturday. “It was a very intense game, I liked the atmosphere from the fans.”

Douglas who says was into the game and doing the Gator Chomp said he felt a part of the team while watching the game on Saturday.

“It felt like I was on the field when the defense got that stop and pick six,” he said. “I was like oh my God, the game is over, I felt like I was on the field and had scored it.”

After the game was over with several of Florida’s coaches talked to Douglas about how the Gators would use him in Gainesville.

“I talked to the head coach and Coach [Greg] Knox,” Douglas said of the coaches he talked to on Saturday. “They said thanks for coming out and seeing them play and that I can be a future Gator and be used like Percy Harvin.”

Douglas has watched a lot of film on Percy Harvin and he likes the way the Gators used him when he was at Florida and likes the comparsion to him.

“When he was playing with Tim Tebow, I see how they used him,” he said on the comparison to Percy Harvin. “I evaluated him, getting him the ball, punt return, kick returns so I see myself like that in a program like this.”

The Gators aren’t the only school recruiting Douglas hard as several other SEC teams are after the Louisiana speedster.

“Florida, Alabama, LSU, Mississippi State, TCU, Tennessee and a couple more big schools,” Douglas said on the schools talking to him.

Douglas admitted the Gators were on top for him and he says several key things lead him to that notion.

“The program, the head coach and the coaching staff,” he said on why Florida is on top for him. “I like how they help the team out and how they come and gets the wins.”

The Louisiana prospects says he wants to see a few more games this year at two different out of state schools.

“Probably Alabama, catch more Florida games,” Douglas said on upcoming visits.

INSIDERS TAKE: Douglas said he will likely wait until his senior to make a decision but he’s no rush to do that. The Gators are definitely a big factor here as Douglas says he grew up watching Tim Tebow and Percy Harvin.
