Donaldson likes the swag from the Florida Gators program

Despite not being able to host prospects on campus this fall, the Florida Gators coaching staff is still doing well with staying in touch with underclassmen prospects around the country.

2022 athlete Tre Donaldson (6-2, 185, Tallahassee, FL. University School) is one of those guys that the staff talks to a lot and is recruiting hard.

“I talk mostly to Coach [Ron] English and Coach [Dan] Mullen,” Donaldson said on the coaches he talks to from Florida. “They’re recruiting me extremely hard, I talk to one of them if not both every day.”

Safeties coach Ron English has explained to Donaldson just what the Gators like about his game and where he would play if he picked Florida for college.

“He preaches ball skills and that is one of my best assets, he sees me a free safety at Florida,” he said on the message from English. “He loves how I track the ball in the air and how I’m a big-time playmaker.”

Head coach Dan Mullen has made a big impression on Donaldson so far and he also has a message for the safety.

“It means a lot to have him recruiting me, it shows how much they want me,” Donaldson said on having Mullen personally recruiting him. “He tells me some of the same things. He tells me the Swamp is waiting on me when I’m ready.”

Donaldson has visited Florida in the past and he knows a lot about the Gators program and that has interest high in the program.

“I like Florida a lot, the Swag, the way they carry themselves is like no other,” he said on his interest in Florida. “Everyone argues about who’s the real DBU and everyone who knows football knows its Florida. They continue to put more and more defensive backs in the league and that’s why I love it so much there.”

Florida’s basketball program has also offered Donaldson as the athlete is a big-time player on the hardwood and he wants to try and play both sports at the next level.

“I plan on coming to college and playing both sports to find what’s going to really work for me,” Donaldson said on potentially playing both sports in college. “To have the opportunity to do something special like playing both sports at Florida is an unbelievable blessing. I talk to Coach [Mike] White almost every day.”
