The Florida Gators picked up their 9th commitment for the Class of 2027 on Monday and their second commitment of the weekend.
Defensive lineman De’Voun Kendrick (6-4, 300, Tampa, FL. Carrollwood Day) committed to Florida over Texas A&M and others on Sunday.
Kendrick picked up an offer from the Gators back in March when he visited Gainesville and during that trip he met with defensive line coach Gerald Chatman.
“He was saying I have really good size and good measurements and he loved my film,” he said on what Chatman told him when offering him. “He said he feels I have even more room to grow, and I can develop more because I’m young, so the sky is the limit for me.”
Shortly after picking up that offer from Florida, Kendrick said the offer was a big one to him as he grew up pulling for the Gators.
“It means the world to me,” Kendrick said on what the offer means to him. “Growing up I’ve always been a fan of Florida and I’ve always thought of me being a Florida Gator. It’s like a dream come into reality.”
Kendrick is the 9th commitment in the class and joins receivers Anthony Jennings and Tramond Collins, tight ends Jackson Ballinger and Tommy Douglas, quarterback Davin Davidson, offensive lineman Maxwell Hiller, and defensive backs Amare Nugent and Aamaury Fountain in the class.
