Dexter Williams names top 3

Running back Dexter Williams (6-0, 190, Orlando, FL West Orange) is counting his blessings. Since he posted a high score at the Nike SPARQ challenge recruiting has gone through the roof.

“The recruiting process is a blessing right now for me,” Williams said. “Not many players get this opportunity to go through the process but you have to be patient because you never know whose going to offer you.”

Since posting that high score Williams has picked up seven offers but three schools stand out.

“Right now a few schools are standing out to me early on,” Williams said. “Georgia, Ohio State and Florida are my top three right now at this time. All of the schools tell me the same thing about how that I’m a great player and that I need to visit them and meet all of the coaches.”

That Florida made the top three has everything to do with the relationship Williams has established with the coaching staff.

“Coach (Will) Muschamp and Coach (Brian) White both tell me that I’m a great player and that they want me to get up to Gainesville real soon,” Williams said. “They want me to get the feel of Florida and Coach Muschamp wants to talk to me more and see me in person and show me something of how I would fit in and stuff like that.”

Next up for Williams is unofficial visits and he plans to see two in-state schools that were also his first two offers in his recruitment.

“I plan to visit Florida and Miami real soon,” Williams said.  “I’m trying to get up to Georgia sometime for a spring practice and I’m not sure when I will visit Ohio State yet.”
