Delp likes how the Florida Gators use the tight end position in Gainesville

On Tuesday night, the Florida Gators offered one of the top tight ends in the country when the coaching staff spoke to him.

2022 tight end Oscar Delp (6-5, 220, Cumming, GA. West Forsyth) picked up the offer after he talked to tight ends coach Tim Brewster.

“Coach [Tim] Brewster offered me,” Delp said on which coach from Florida offered him. “He told me he believed I am one of the best tight ends in the country and he loves how I play.”

Delp has a lot of big offers already but he was happy to receive an offer from Florida and wants to visit Gainesville.

“It’s a great offer,” he said on what the offer means to him. “I am very excited about it and I can’t wait to visit and learn all about the program.”

Brewster explained to Delp on Tuesday just how the Gators would use him on offense and why Florida likes his style of play.

“He wants to use me all over the field,” Delp said on how Brewster wants to use him. “I’m a mismatch against linebackers because they’re too slow and corners because they’re too small. He believes that I fit their style because I’m an athletic tight end and just a tight end who blocks.”

Tight end Kyle Pitts had one of the best seasons from a tight end this past year and that’s something that caught Delp’s attention.

“I watched him and it did definitely,” he said on if he watched Kyle Pitts and if that caught his attention. “Watching how they used him was great to see.”

Delp says a visit to Gainesville is necessary so he can learn more about the Gators program but heading into the visit Florida has his attention.

“I’m definitely interested in them and I don’t know much about the program but I can’t wait to learn more,” Delp said on his interest in Florida.

The Gators have a lot of top teams competing against them for Delp but the tight end wants to take things slow so he can make an educated decision.

“Georgia, USC, Clemson, North Carolina, South Carolina, and Auburn are all recruiting me pretty hard,” he said. “I don’t have an exact amount of schools I want to visit but I want to visit as many as possible to I really know where I want to go.”
