Del Rio-Wilson to enter transfer portal

Redshirt freshman quarterback Carlos Del Rio-Wilson will enter the transfer portal, he announced on Tuesday evening.

Del Rio-Wilson was a top-150 overall recruit in the class of 2021, according to the 247Sports Composite, but he didn’t play in a game as a true freshman.

The Atlanta native exited the spring as the likely No. 3 quarterback on the depth chart, but he went 0-for-2 and was sacked twice in limited playing time in the Orange and Blue Game.

With Del Rio-Wilson apparently out of the mix, the Gators will enter the summer with four scholarship quarterbacks on the roster for next season: Anthony Richardson, Jack Miller, Jalen Kitna and incoming freshman Max Brown.
