Last Saturday, the Florida Gators hosted several of their top commits in the Swamp as they witnessed the Gators knock off Texas.
Receiver commit Marquez Daniel (6-5, 187, Tuskegee, AL. Booker T. Washington) was on campus and enjoyed seeing the Gators get a win.
“It was a great win,” Daniel said. “The defense is doing their job, and I feel like the defense kept their offense contained and kept Texas off the field.”
Daniel wasn’t sure what to expect from freshman Dallas Wilson, but he was impressed by him and the other receivers.
“They them, they’re different,” he said on the receiver play. “I’m ready to be here next year with them.”
Receivers coach Billy Gonzales spoke with Daniel at length on Saturday and had a simple message for him.
“He told me great win this week,” Daniel said on the message from Billy Gonzales. “He told me he can’t wait till I get here and be a part of the team. He was at my game on Friday.”
Next up for Daniel will be a trip to another SEC school, but he will be back in Gainesville soon after that.
“I’m going to Auburn vs Georgia,” Daniel said on his next visit. “I’ll be back at Florida for Tennessee and Florida State.”
Despite others still coming hard after him, Daniel said he’s solid with the Gators.
“I’m still locked in,” he said on his commitment level to Florida. “Auburn is right up the street so I’m going to check them out, but I’m still locked in.”
Several things are keeping Daniel locked in with Florida, including his relationship with Billy Napier and other staff members.
“My relationship with Coach Billy G, Coach Chad [Lucas], and Coach Napier,” Daniel said on what he keeps him locked in with Florida. “They tell me to stay patient and focused.”
