Daniel likes what the Florida Gators are known for

The Florida Gators handed out several offers on Thursday as the coaching staff continues to go throughout the country during the evaluation period.

One of the offers handed out on Thursday was to JUCO defensive back DJ Daniel (6-0, 180, Milledgeville, GA. Georgia Millitary College) by offensive line coach John Hevesy.

“Coach Hevesy offered me,” Daniel said on which coach offered him on Thursday. “He said that I’ll be a great fit at Florida with my size and length at the position.”

Hevesy was by Daniel’s school earlier this week and liked what he saw out of the defensive back.

“It started on Tuesday when Coach Hevesy came by school and watched me,” he said on when he started talking to Florida. “He told me to stay focused on the main goal and that I deserved this opportunity.”

On Thursday when Hevesy spoke with Daniel, he explained what the Gators like about the defensive back.

“Just being a defensive back and my style of play,” Daniel said on what Hevesy told him that Florida likes about him. “He said he likes how I can play press man, off man, zone and just the length I have. He likes my long arms and just told me to use it as an advantage.”

Daniel doesn’t know a whole lot about Florida but he does what the Gators are known for on the defensive side of the ball.

“It’s a great program and a big offer for me,” he said on his interest in Florida. “The defensive backs always been known when talking about Florida.”

Now that the Gators have offered Daniel, the JUCO defensive back plans to get down to Gainesville to see the campus.

“I plan on visiting this month,” Daniel said on when he plans to visit Florida. “I don’t know the date yet but I’ll know soon.”

The Gators will have a chance to get some momentum as the defensive back would like to make a decision in the near future.

“I want to commit somewhere before the next football season starts,” he said.

INSIDERS TAKE: Daniel is a guy that is picking up a lot of offers as of late and is someone that will continue to pick up big offers. He has a lot of interest in Florida.
