Dan Mullen says there is excitement around recruiting for the Florida Gators

The Florida Gators knocked off Georgia 44-28 on Saturday and the win was bigger than just one win on the field.

Dan Mullen and the Gators have battled the Georgia Bulldogs in many recruiting battles since Mullen arrived in Gainesville and that made winning in Jacksonville important after dropping the last two games against the Bulldogs.

Florida currently sits with 26 commits in the 2021 recruiting class and Mullen says those guys were excited after watching Florida beat Georgia to take the lead in the SEC East on Saturday.

“It’s always better than going the other way,” Mullen said on recruiting after the Georgia game. “You know what, the excitement. You’re hitting up your guys that are committed to come play for you and they’re fired up, they can’t wait to be a part of where the program’s headed, the direction the program’s headed.”

The Gators are battling Georgia for two of their top remaining targets in Terrion Arnold and Xavian Sorey and Mullen says even those guys are excited about where the program is headed.

“Guys that aren’t committed and all these other guys you recruited and are excited about what the future of the program looks like,” he said. “There is sure something positive around the program.”

The excitement is around the program and you could tell that by just taking a look at social media after the game, as several Florida targets were tweeting praise for the Gators and quarterback Kyle Trask.
