Curry excited by Saturday’s Florida Gators offer

On Saturday, the Florida Gators handed out a new offer to underclassmen as they continue to build their recruiting board for the 2022 class.

2022 defensive tackle Caden Curry (6-5, 250, Greenwood, IN. Center Grove) picked up an offer from the Gators after he talked to one of the recruiting analysts.

“Coach [David Cooper] Coop offered me,” Curry said on who offered him on Saturday. “They said they loved my film and that I played with great effort.”

Curry currently has 19 offers but he admits hearing from the Gators was big for him and left him happy about his progress as a player.

“It made me excited,” he said on his feeling of being offered by Florida. “It was definitely exciting to be my first offer from a Florida school and that they liked my film, it was greatly appreciated.”

Cooper didn’t get into much detail with Curry about how he would play in the Gators defense but he did explain to the defensive lineman how his game fits into what Florida does on defense.

“I think they could see me playing inside or outside and playing fast for them,” Curry said on how Cooper sees him fitting into Florida’s defense. “He said I play with a high motor that fits how they play fast and that I never up on a play.”

Curry doesn’t have know a lot about the Gators program but he does know how Florida plays on defense.

“I don’t know much but I know they’re a winning program,” he said on what he knows about Florida. “They definitely play as one unit and compete and play every down with intent.”

Now that Curry has an offer from Florida, the 2022 prospect says he would like to visit Florida as other are also recruiting him hard.

“I will definitely try to visit them, I have interest in them,” Curry said of his interest in Florida and other schools recruiting him hard. “Ohio State, Alabama, Clemson and Oregon are.”
