Crawford has the Florida Gators “at the top” following his UF visit

Corey Raymond and the Florida Gators have offered a lot of defensive backs and are in good shape with several of those guys and this past weekend they hosted one of their top targets at the position.

Defensive back Jalyn Crawford (6-0, 180, Lilburn, GA. Parkview) was on campus and enjoyed seeing everything around Gainesville.

“It was great, I really liked what I saw,” Crawford said of his visit to Florida. “It was a lot going on but at the end of the day, it was good. I got to talk to all of the coaches, and it was just a good weekend. I had fun.”

Crawford spent a lot of time with Raymond and defensive coordinator Austin Armstrong, but he said he also got time around the rest of the coaches.

“I talked to all of them,” he said on the coaches he spent time with. “It was fun, it was cool, and it was more about me this time. It was a nice weekend and I really liked it.”

This was the second time for Crawford to visit Gainesville and he says several things are standing out about the Gators now.

“They have good people and good facilities,” Crawford said on what stands out about Florida. “Everything is good here, me and the coaches all get along with each other. Ultimately, I want to get to the league, and they get do that for me and they can develop me both on and off the field.”

While Raymond is the main recruiter for Crawford, the defensive back says head coach Billy Napier also is talking to him a lot.

“We really talk almost every day,” he said on his relationship with Napier. “He’s a nice dude, I mess with Coach Napier.”

After this visit this weekend, Crawford says the Gators are sitting in good shape with him but a few other schools are right there as well.

“They’ve been at the top, they’re already at the top,” Crawford said on where Florida stands in his recruitment. “At the top of the list, there’s a couple of schools up there.”

INSIDERS TAKE: Crawford says he plans to commit in July after he takes official visits to LSU, Auburn, and North Carolina. Crawford says he may visit Miami too.
