Conner looking to earn an offer from the Florida Gators

The Florida Gators are preparing for their biggest event of the month of July on Friday when the coaching staff will host Friday Night Lights and a number of top targets will be attendance.

Offensive lineman David Conner (6-6, 270, Deerfield Beach, FL. High) is planning to attend the event and while he enters the camp with no offer from Florida yet, he’s still hearing from the Gators a lot.

“They’re recruiting me very hard,” Conner said of Florida. “Coach [John] Hevesy and I have developed a great relationship over the past month. It has been going very good.”

Offensive line coach John Hevesy has explained to Conner just how he would fit into things at Florida if the Gators were to offer and he were to pick Florida.

“Well, a lot mostly about coming up and showing out and also making sure I maintain my figure,” he said on the message from Hevesy. “He loves me at left tackle, he loves the athleticism that I bring and how I’m so mobile for someone my size.”

Conner has one thing on mind for Friday and that’s leaving Gainesville with an offer from the Gators.

“After I leave the workout I will have an offer from the University of Florida,” Conner said on what he plans to accomplish during his visit. “Learning more about his [Hevesy] coaching styles and what he brings to the table.”

If Florida does offer Conner after his workout with Hevesy, the lineman says the Gators would be high on his list.

“It would mean a lot,” he said on what an offer from Florida would mean to him. “That’s SEC football, I would be able to play with some of the best.”

Several other schools have already offered Conner and he says he would like to make a decision soon.

“Liberty, FAU, Syracuse, FIU, and Arizona,” Conner said on other schools recruiting him hard. “I want to make one [decision] next month.
