Collins enjoys his visit to the Swamp on Saturday

On Saturday the Florida Gators coaching staff had several underclassmen prospects in town to watch the Gators shut out Towson at home.

2021 defensive end Noah Collins (6-5, 205, Loganville, GA. Grayson) was on campus and enjoyed the visit to the Swamp.

“My visit was great,” Collins said of his visit to Florida on Saturday. “I just talked to a few coaches, got to see the warm ups in the stadium and then watched the game.”

Collins watched the Gators defense closely on Saturday and liked how the defensive line played against Towson.

“The game was fun and the atmosphere was great,” he said of Saturday’s game. “The Florida defense is really solid and I think I’ll fit in well with their defense.

After the game was over Collins had the chance to talk to several of Florida’s coaches and they had a general message for him.

“I talked to Coach [Robert] Cooper, Coach Mullen, Coach [David] Turner and Coach [Todd] Grantham after the game,” Collins said of the coaches he talked to on Saturday. “We were just basically talking about me and my potential future at the University of Florida.”

Defensive line coach David Turner spoke at length with Collins and explained to him how the Gators could use him in the Swamp.

“Basically that I would be playing off the edge a lot,” he said on the message from Turner. “He says that they loved seeing me down their and that they really need guys like me right now. I like Coach Turner and his coaching style.”

Collins is just starting to build a relationship with the Gators coaching staff but he has good things to say about three of Florida’s coaches.

“Coach Mullen is a very interactive guy,” Collins said of his relationship with the coaching staff. “Coach Grantham is a really smart coach who knows his stuff and Coach Turner likes to rotate his guys in and it’s nice, it allows the defense to be more versatile.”

The Gators are one of many schools recruiting Collins but the defensive end says he likes several things about Florida’s program.

“Florida has been recruiting me heavy,” he said on his interest in Florida. “I like the coaching staff a lot and the energy of the crowd and also the environment and campus.”

INSIDERS TAKE: Collins says he plans to return to Gainesville for the Auburn this coming weekend.
