Cine listening to the Florida Gators recruiting pitch

The Florida Gators are looking to add safeties in the 2019 class and while they haven’t landed one yet, they have a few top targets still remaining on the board.

Safety Lewis Cine (6-2, 180, Cedar Hill, TX. Trinity Christian School) is a new name to the board that’s starting to show interest in Florida as of late.

“Florida just got back in the picture,” Cine said of Florida.

After a recent conversation with safeties coach Ron English, Cine decided to give Florida a chance in his recruitment.

“I talked to Coach English,” he said on how the Gators got back in the picture. “I want to see what the Gators football team is all about.”

Cine who is ranked as of the top safeties in the country got a quick message from English about how he wants the safety to look into things at Florida.

“He wants me to come down and see the Swamp for what it is,” Cine said of the message from English. “He also told me he wants to see me in the Gators uniform.”

The Gators will get their chance to recruit Cine and show off why he’s needed in Gainesville when the safety visits Florida.

“I’m taking an official visit in October,” he said on when he plans to visit Florida. “I’m visiting Penn State, Georgia, Texas and Michigan to.”

When Cine does visit Florida, he’s looking to see what all the Gators have to offer and he’s coming in with an open mind.

“I’m giving them the chance to recruit me,” Cine said on his interest in Florida. “That’s the reason why I’m going to a game.”

INSIDERS TAKE: Cine said he plans to make a decision in October and that he’s going to early enroll. Right now Georgia appears to be the team talked about the most with Cine.
