Church has family connections to the Florida Gators

The Florida Gators hosted their elite camp in June and while several guys worked out with an offer, other worked out in hopes of gaining an offer.

2023 offensive lineman Jordan Church (6-4, 310, Fort Myers, FL. Dunbar) was one of those guys who worked out in front of John Hevesy and Dan Mullen in hopes of picking up an offer from Florida.

“The visit was great,” Church said of his visit to Florida in June. “I was able to do 1-on-1’s in front of Coach [Dan] Mullen and he personally told me I was doing a great job. It was an honor to be coached up from both coaches [Hevesy and Mullen]. Both coaches are good coaches.”

Church has previously worked out for offensive line coach John Hevesy and the coach says an offer is close for the lineman.

“This is my second time camping for him,” he said of working out for Hevesy. “He told me before that an offer may be coming soon and to keep working hard.”

The 2023 lineman has a lot of family connections to the Gators’ program so picking up an offer from Florida would be a big one for him and his family.

“It will be a dream come true for me,” Church said. “It would mean the world to me, growing up watching my cousin Markihe Anderson who played for the Gators and always hearing stories about uncle Johnie Church who also played. I guess you can say it’s in my blood, so yes it would be a dream to get an offer from the Gators.”

While Florida hasn’t offer yet, two other schools have and several other SEC schools are close to offering Church.

“Well, I hold offers from Florida State and Florida A&M,” he said on other schools recruiting him hard. “I’m hearing from Auburn, South Carolina, and Central Florida. It’s a lot of schools showing interest but those are the ones I’m in contact with.”
