Castell calls his Florida Gators offer a “special” one

On Saturday, the Florida Gators handed out a few new offers including to multiple underclassmen after the coaching staff was out on the road seeing these prospects.

2023 defensive back Jordan Castell (6-2, 195, Winter Garden, FL. West Orange) picked up an offer after an assistant coach was at his game on Friday.

“Coach Wesley McGriff,” Castell said on the coach from Florida who offered him. “He was like that he likes the way I move on the field; he likes what I can do at my position. He was at my game on Friday.”

Castell was excited to pick up an offer from Florida and it was an offer he has dreamed of getting since he was young.

“It means a lot,” he said on what the offer means to him. “Me and my family use to talk about it before. I grew up a Gator fan, I’ve always been watching since I was young. It was special to get that offer. I was surprised because I’ve always dreamed of it.”

Defensive back Wesley McGriff explained to Castell on Saturday just how he would fit into Florida’s defense if he was to pick the Gators for college.

“He likes how I can play corner and safety,” Castell on the message from McGriff. “When I get there, wherever they need me at I could play it. He likes that I’m a ball hawk and will go get the ball because I’m always around the ball. I think he likes me more at safety.”

Castell hopes to get up to Gainesville for a visit this year as he wants to see how the Gators are doing in person.

“They’ve been playing pretty good,” he said on Florida’s season so far this year. “I’m going to come up and watch a couple of games myself to see them.”

A few other schools have jumped in Castell’s recruitment  as of late as his recruitment continues to expand.

“Boston College, Rutgers, Virginia, Virginia Tech, and Iowa State,” Castell said on other schools recruiting him hard.
