Cameron Miller breaks down last week’s Florida Gators’ offer

Last week, the Florida Gators sent out a few new offers to underclassmen prospects including one out of state receiver.

2022 receiver Cameron Miller (6-1, 190, Memphis, TN. Memphis Academy of Health Sciences) picked up an offer from the Gators after he talked to the coaching staff.

“Coach Billy Gonzales offered me, we’ve been talking for months now,” Miller said of the coach from Florida who offered him. “The day after I dropped my top six, he texted me and said I want to be your number 1 school so he gave me the offer and he was saying he wants to coach me and make me successful.”

Miller has 18 offers to date but the Gators are a school that he has wanted an offer from during his recruitment.

“This offer means I’m grateful for another opportunity to play at another Division 1 program,” he said on what the offer means to him. “My options are open still so Florida is definitely a top school that I would want to go to so it’s up there in the list.”

Receivers coach Billy Gonzales explained to Miller during the call just what Florida likes about his game and how Gonzales can help him improve his craft.

“He just told me how he puts receivers in the NFL and that I could be one of those guys to go there and I can be like them in their explosive offense,” Miller said of the message from Gonzales. “He likes the way I can catch the ball and make plays in space and just being able to be a receive type guy.”

Miller watched a lot of Florida’s games this year and the Gators’ offense and their pace of play impressed him.

“I like how they can get the ball to their receivers in space for them to make plays,” he said on what he likes about Florida’s offense. “Also they give their receivers chances in the air to make a play on the ball. I like the pace they play at and how they pace themselves.”

After picking up the offer, Miller admits the Gators made an impression on him and he likes a lot of things about Florida’s program.

“My interest is really high on Florida because of the offense that they run,” Miller said. “The history is big with Tim Tebow and Percy Harvin and them type of players so Florida is known for being a competitor in the SEC East and that’s something I like.”
