Brown says the Florida Gators made a big move for him on Saturday

Next weekend is setting up to be a big weekend of visits when the Florida Gators take on LSU but on Saturday several prospects watched the Gators beat Missouri.

Linebacker Jayvant Brown (6-0, 220, Fort Lauderdale, FL. St. Thomas Aquinas) was on campus and enjoyed meeting Billy Napier and his staff and seeing the new things on campus.

“It was really good,” Brown said of his visit to Florida on Saturday. “Seeing the new facility, the new coaches, and the new defense to see how they run things. It was a really good experience.”

This was the first time for Brown to meet the new staff and his first impression was a good one.

“Just seeing them was a different experience to talk to them in person,” he said on meeting the coaches for the first time. “I can tell they’re good guys and I talked to like three linebacker coaches.”

Linebackers coach Jay Bateman has been talking to Brown a lot and has explained to him just what the Gators like about his game.

“Coach Bateman is the one who contacts me the most,” Brown said. “I really like him, he’s a calm cool dude. He likes that I can move sideline to sideline fast and that I can get off blocks.”

Bateman and the rest of the defensive staff recently offered Brown and the linebacker says he likes several things about Florida.

“They have,” he said on if the new staff has re-offered him. “Florida is family oriented, nice environment, everybody is calm collective and cool.”

Heading into the visit, the Gators were in Brown’s top seven schools but he says the Gators made a big jump following the visit.

“I have a top 7 but I’m narrowing down my options,” Brown said. “Penn State, Florida State, LSU, Alabama, Florida, and two more. Florida has moved up now that I watched this game. Probably in my top 3 now, I’m still talking to LSU and South Carolina too.”
