Brown has the Florida Gators high in his recruitment

Earlier this week, the Florida Gators started hosting 2022 prospects on virtual visits since they can’t host prospects on campus.

2022 quarterback Jacurri Brown (6-4, 205, Valdosta, GA. Lowndes) was one of those who took a virtual visit with the Gators and head coach Dan Mullen.

“It went great, it was smooth and I enjoyed it,” Brown said of his virtual visit to Florida. “I talked to Coach Mullen, I talked to Coach [Brian] Johnson one-on-one talking football, and we watched a campus tour, watched the football training video and listened to the training video.”

Mullen spent a lot of time going over the tradition of Florida and what being a quarterback means for the Gators.

“He was telling me about the tradition and how playing quarterback at Florida is a big deal,” he said on what Mullen had to say. “It’s a really big deal, to get a statue out there would be nice. We just talked football and it felt great because I haven’t talked football with coaches in a long time.”

Brown also had a lot of questions for Mullen and the Gators head coach explained to him what being a quarterback for him means.

“He talked about Dak Prescott and some of his former guys, it stands out to me,” Brown said on if he notices Mullen’s history at the position. “I asked him what he was looking for in a quarterback and he said a willing runner, quick decision maker, I learned a lot and took a lot back with me.”

Quarterbacks coach Brian Johnson has been the main guy recruiting Brown and on Monday the quarterback learned something new about Johnson.

“Our relationship is pretty great, we talk all the time now,” he said on his talks with Johnson. “We’re building a relationship and he’s teaching a lot, he’s a great guy and we can relate. I didn’t know that he had a NCAA cover. I’ve never met anyone with a cover.”

Brown hasn’t been shy about his interest in the Gators and he says he likes several things about the Florida program.

“Florida is high, I like Florida,” Brown said of his interest in Florida. “Florida is right down the road from home, it’s a good place to go. I feel like Florida likes me. I just want to get back down there again.”
